FRINGE benefits is one of the oldest established hairdressing salons in the town. Originally know as Erica’s, the name of the business was changed to FRINGE benefits in 1989 by owner Jayne Smith.
In 1999 a beauty room above the salon and recently a purpose built spray tan room was added.
We have a knowledgeable and creative team of stylists at FRINGE benefits that caters for every type of client.
The salon continues to update to reflect the ever changing trends and fashions in the hair and beauty industry.
Little bit about us!
Since our salon opened back in 1989, FRINGE benefits have been at the forefront of male and female hairdressing.
Known in the area for excellence, we have developed a reputation for specialising in colour corrections, fashion work and cutting techniques. This has been achieved by our dedicated, hardworking and creative team.
We pride ourselves on being able to turn your ideas into reality without fuss or pretence. As our ethos is: whatever you want, we’ll do it!

Our Team
Jayne
Salon ownerJayne is the owner of FRINGE benefits and was the head stylist from 1989-2015.
Jayne said, “I’m delighted to lead a group of talented hair stylist at FRINGE benefits. For me, staff development is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. I have taught hairdressing at the local college and take great pride in the quality of the stylist in my team.”
Sammie
Beauty consultant, Stylist and make-up artistSamantha recently joined our team in 2015 as a qualified hairstylist and has trained as a beauty consultant. She manages the day-to-day running of the salon and is always looking to drive the business forward.
Sammie said ” The most rewarding part of my job is how some thing as simple as a cut to a full makeover can change how a client feels. My passion is everything hair & beauty and I love a challenge.”
Donna
Senior Creative StylistDonna joined us in 1996 and is our most experienced stylist with 20 year’s service.
Donna said, “The most enjoyable aspect of my job, for me, is colouring and restyling hair it allows me to create new looks and be creative!”
Alison
Creative StylistAlison joined us in 2004, completed her apprenticeship and gone on to become one of our most experienced stylist
Alison said, “I particularly enjoy working with long hair as it enables me to be creative. I
consider myself very lucky to have a career that is forever changing and stimulating.”
Sophie
Stylist , Nail TechnicianSophie joined our team in 2013 and is fully qualified in hairdressing. She’s our expert Nail Technician and is currently developing her beauty treatment skills.
Sophie said “The hairdressing industry is forever changing which provides variety to my work. I particularly enjoy nail art as this allows me to be creative.”
